Congratulations to McKenna Long & Aldridge, Parker Poe Adams and Bernstein, and Reed Smith for being final nominees for the SharePoint Innovator of the Year 2009. 

This award recognizes law firms or corporate law departments for innovative use of Microsoft’s SharePoint technology.  ILTA members were invited to submit their portal for review, describing the functionality, value, and design.  Out of 100 site nominations, 32 sites qualified for competition, and four finalists were chosen.  We are honored and proud that three of the finalists are current XMLAW clients.

Bob Lamy from McKenna Long & Aldridge, Steve Fletcher from Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein, and Tom Baldwin from Reed Smith all presented their portals during the conference.  All were outstanding examples of integrating internal and external information sources, automatically targeting relevant content to lawyers and staff, and delivering powerful enterprise search capabilities.  Each portal has had a dramatic impact, from better sharing of knowledge to making it easier for users to find information to fostering a firm-wide culture of collaboration.  In the case case of Parker Poe, the portal has directly contributed to winning new business.
